5th Symposium on
Advances in Approximate Bayesian Inference

Sunday July 23rd, 2023 at the Ala Moana Hotel, 410 Atkinson Drive in Honolulu, Hawaii 96814 United States Co-located with ICML

We invite researchers in machine learning and statistics to participate in the 5th Symposium on Advances in Approximate Bayesian Inference.

Key Dates

  • Submission deadline (regular track): 14 April 2023 (11:59pm AOE)
  • Fast Track Submission deadline: 26 May 2023 (11:59pm AOE)
  • Acceptance notification: 16 June 2023
  • Camera ready for accepted submissions: 14 July 2023

Camera ready and poster instructions for accepted papers

Camera ready versions of main-track accepted papers should be deanonymised, listing author names and affiliations, and incorporate the feedback provided by reviewers. Updated manuscripts should be uploaded to OpenReview by 14 July 2023.

Posters should be vertical (portrait) and cannot exceed A0 size.

Fast Track Submission Details (closed)

We also invite researchers to present papers on the development, analysis, or application of approximate Bayesian inference that have previously been accepted at ICLR 2023, ICML 2023, UAI 2023, AISATS 2023, as well as JMLR and TMLR in 2023. These papers should be formatted according to the camera ready standards of their respective venues. Author names do not need to be anonymized. AABI Fast track is non-archival and does not have proceedings to avoid conflict with other venues' double submission policies.

Papers accepted within this modality will be presented in-person as posters. These papers will not appear on the AABI website.

The fast-track submission portal is now open!.

Submission Details (regular track, closed)

We invite researchers to submit their recent work on the development, analysis, or application of approximate Bayesian inference. A submission should take the form of an extended abstract of 3-6 pages in PDF format using the AABI PMLR one-column style (template). For questions and troubleshooting, visit CTAN.

The review process will be double-blind. Author names need to be anonymized and references may extend as far as needed beyond the 6-page upper limit. Submissions may include a supplement/appendix, but reviewers are not required to read any supplementary material.

All accepted submissions will be presented in-person as posters. Papers will be made available on the symposium website. Authors will also have the option of recording video summaries, which will also appear on this website. The authors of selected submissions will be invited to publish their paper in a PMLR volume.

Dual submission policy: If a paper has previously appeared in a journal, workshop, or conference (including the ICML 2023 conference), it should be extended in order to be accepted at the AABI 2023 regular track. If a paper is currently under review (e.g. in NeurIPS 2023), it can still be submitted to AABI. Selected submissions accepted at AABI will be invited for archival publication through our PMLR proceedings. Note this option is not available to papers published at other journal or conference venues.

To submit papers, please use the OpenReview submission link.
